Over the years, we have been asked a series of common questions by our guests about our place, the surroundings, places to eat and general policies. Here are some of those questions and our responses which might be helpful to you.
If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us by e-mail or phone.
From mid-June to mid-September, the daytime temperatures range from mid 20C (75F) to mid 30C (86F) with the evenings cooling down to mid-teens (15C to 18C). August tends to be the warmest month with a few hot and humid days. Sometimes, September is the best month of the Summer, with ideal comfortable temperatures.
We would like to think that you have the best natural air conditioning system ... the cool breeze off the water courtesy of Mother Nature!
We don’t have a mechanical air conditioning system but each suite is equipped with a ceiling and floor fan. Each year there are only a handful of days in August when we experience a heat wave and things are a little warmer than usual in the Manor and Summer House.
Both the Manor and our Summer House are waterfront properties and Cardigan Beach is only a few steps (not across the street or a trek across some property) from the front door through our private access. The Panmure Island Provincial Park Beach is at the causeway, which is only a 25 minute walk or 3 minute drive away.
The waters around Panmure Island are generally calm and considered to be safe but caution should be exercised at all times especially as you go further out into the waters where you could encounter rip currents.
No; the Manor does not offer lunch or dinner. We serve a warm, healthy and delicious breakfast each morning. There are several good restaurants, pubs and food trucks that are a short drive away where you can dine-in or take-out. We will be glad to provide you with some recommendations.
Yes; we will do our very best to accommodate those who may have dietary restrictions. Please advise us of any dietary restrictions (and any particular dislikes) at the time of booking your reservation.
There are two large grocery stores in Montague, which is approximately a 20 minute drive from the Manor.
Unfortunately not. Given the lay out and delicate furnishings of the Manor, it is most suitable for adult guests (over the age of 18 years old).
Although we love pets, they are not permitted in our Manor or Summer House because we are committed to the well-being and comfort of all of our guests. Some of our guests may not be comfortable with pets and/or may have allergies.
The internet service on Panmure Island continues to improve but, being a rural community, the service can be slow and at times unreliable. We have recently upgraded our internet service and it has been quite good. However, we caution against planning important video conference meetings or interviews while at the Manor or Summer House as the signal could be weak on any given day.
No; our laundry facilities are not available to guests. However, please note that the Summer House is equipped with a washer and dryer.
We strive to keep our Manor and Summer House safe for all our guests by cleaning common areas regularly and providing sanitizers and cleaning wipes. We also expect that our guests are fully vaccinated against COVID.
There is a hospital, two pharmacies and three clinics in Montague, which is approximately a 20 minute drive away. The main hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, is located in Charlottetown and is approximately 50 minutes away by car. Ambulatory services are available throughout the Island.
We have a smoke free environment. Smoking of any kind is not permitted on the grounds or in the buildings.
While the Manor and Summer House are intended exclusively for the enjoyment of the guests, we may consider requests from guests to invite family or friends for a short visit on an exceptional basis. We shall consider each request on a case by case basis and reserve the right to deny any request.
While we will do our best to accommodate our guests, we will consider each request on a case-by-case basis given our tight schedule.
We have a very short season and we ask our guests to respectfully adhere to our cancellation policy. Of course, we won’t be unreasonable and unfair. In the event that an emergency arises or something that is totally out of your control occurs before you arrive or while you are at our place, we will work with you to find a reasonable solution. We ask that you be honest, fair and respectful as we will be with you.
